clinical is suppose to be from 8 to 2pm. but the students got a training in the morning so we got half day off. so clinical is from 11 to 2pm:) yah!
3 of us are in different clinical group. each clinical grp got abt 7 to 8 students and a clinical instructor.
our hospital: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (is near sch, just abt 5 mins walk)
the hospital is like our NUH, where the uni and hospital is sort of linked and related.
my ward: Founders 12.
a student will wait for us at the lobby and bring us to our ward.
my clinical instructor: Hope Mckee.
today in the ward is onli orientation. the whole day Hope just talk about the ward, expectation, assignment, taking care of the pt.........
we also walk around the ward.
the setting is about the same as singapore. they have staff lounge, clean and dirty utility, med store, pantry. but all these need password/code to enter.
the ward is quite messy.laundry trolley seems to be everywhere. things seems to be everywhere. maybe cos i am not use to the setting yet.
for attachment our roles is to OBSERVE! not to do. cos of some liability issues. so we will be following a student and see how they do their work and stuff.
after our attachment, we went to meet Geri again. and our Penncard is ready but not the com acc. so we walked to the penncard center and get our card.
after getting the card we went back to the office. we meet Dr Marjorie. she tell us about the tourist attraction here in Philadelphia. where we can visit and go.
lastly, my LUNCH!!!
i bought Chinese rice from this food truck near sch. and is the best food i had over here. i have not eaten rice for the past few days. i bought hanan chicken. is not bad, but not as good as Singapore and home cooked food.
after everything we went home and reached home about 4 plus. i wanna take a nap at 6 plus till 8. i set the alarm but off it when it rang. SO i slept all the way till the next morning!!!
slept from 0630 to 0630. 12hrs of sleep!!! think i never sleep for 12 hrs for years le!
our sleeping time is so weird. we sleep in the noon and wake up late in the night. eg 3 or 4am think we are experiencing jet lag and we are so lag to experience that.
