First clinical day!
Thursday, September 11, 2008
today is the first day on the ward. my attachment time is 8 to 2pm. and is really really SLACK! from 8 to 9 there is a pre conference. we will sit in the discussion room and discuss the patient for today. the student will have the select a pt the day b4 and go read abt the case and stuff. so from 8 to 9 will go one round talking abt the pt and review the plan for the day.
Boot camp
long bean and egg.
from 9 till 1230 will go and implement the care. but each student onli got one pt! so for today, i followed Rachel. we got a cardiac pt. he is waiting to go for a ablation. however they found clots in the blood vessel. thus op is delayed and he is on warfirin and heparin. the pt is independent and well. the onli think Rachel did is physical examination on him and vital sign. this onli take like 30mins. after that we really got nothing to do. so the whole day my clinical group just hang around, chat, look at pt's notes, and then wait patiently for the time to pass. time pass really slow when you got nothing to do. unlike in singapore we are busy like CRAZY! like some mad woman running ard the ward.
then from 1230 to 2, got to go grab lunch then post conference. sit down and reflect on the day over lunch. talk how did the day go? what have you done? anything interesting happened? that's all.
i onli have 4 more clinical and 4 more class to attend and then i am done! there is a test coming up on wed. we plan to start studying on monday. haha. we are so busy with our drama. haha.
after attachment went to meet yvonne and meijiao. they finish at 1pm and they waited for me. went for lunch, then to buy fruits and then went home for drama.
we got quite a lot of food in the fridge now. we got ourselves quite alot of junks. ice-cream, waffles, lays, gummies, yogurt, apple pie.... haha. Yipee!

Me and Yvonne in Penn transit. a van that will fetch you home. but onli after 6pm.
this is a ice-cream van! there is music. so when you hear the music you will know that ice cream is here. is really cool.
fried rice
at first the long bean taste really horrible. thus we decided to add sauce. and we added spaghetti sauce. haha. cos we got no other sauce.
