week 4 mon to fri

last week of sch. a mixture of feelings. kind of sad that it ended. gonna miss my clinical group i guess. at first i feel out of place but as time pass, it is better. happy no more sch, gg for tour! no need to wake up early:)

Monday: went home after sch, showed kate around on the way home. we end sch early that day. think about 1130. then after stayed at home. i took a nap.

tues: clinical day. yvonne had pizza lunch with her grp, meijiao end at 1pm, me at 2pm so we decided to go home our own. before i go home. i went to explore some places and also went to shop. i reached home 2.5 hours later. so sorry to keep them worried. they smsed me, but my hp got some problem that day and did not receive.

wed: last day of class. went for lecture. took photo with prof ann marie, the module coordinator. then after that we went shopping at the factory outlet, franklin mill mall. the place is far, took us about 1.5 hours? i bought alot of stuff. but something happened. i bought a bag, the bag is suppose to be on a discount but the person sell it to me at the usual price. i am so blur and onli realised it when i reached home. cos i thought the price tag dropped and did not see the price tag. the price tag is actually in the bag. the salesperson also did not see the price tag. he sell it to me $40USD extra which is abt $60 sin. ARGH! and the bag is quite expansive. $60 sin is a lot! because of this i am not able to sleep well. i keep thinking if i can get my money back. will they think that i just stick a price there myself or will they acknowledge the mistake and pay me back. i want to go back to the place badly!

then on the last day of my clinical (thurs) i shared with them about singapore. they cannot believe that singapore has no four season and that it is just a dot in the map. and i guess they don't where is singapore. shared with them about our healthcare system too. eg. the A to C class bed, the medisave, medifund, medishield and eldershield. also shared with them about male nurses unable to take care of female pt unlike in US. a few other stuff also. blog more about the difference between US and Singapore next time. i had a great time sharing with them and they asking qn, they are shock abt the differnces. after that took some photos. then head home and sleep

friday: stayed home in the morning and noon. talked to my family. our usual meeting time is fri, sat and sun night. which is my morning. i wake up early to talk to them. show them wat i got for them also. sab is very excited! and then her face will change when you say there is nothing for her. very practical. then pack some stuff and then do laundry. i realised tat i have a problem, i got too many things and i don know how am i gonna bring the things back. think i got to get a new luggage, anyway the one i got is kind of old. (my mum ask me to get a new one too) in the evening we went to terminal market with Dr Wang, actually suppose to watch ome jazz concert but don have. then went for dinner, chinese restaurant, food is not bad. Dr wang's treat. talked about some global health issues and it inspired me somehow. Dr Wang major in global health.

after dinner we went to a Obama watchnight party. as you all know US election is nearing, Obama and McCain. and then they have a debate session live. so most americans will be watching it. there are few pubs and restaurant where ppl can watch together and they call it a watchnight party. watch from 8-10pm ate cake and ice cream at the same time. Dr wang's treat again:) the restaurant we went to is for Obama supportor as Dr wang is one of them. you can hear ppl cheering and clapping as Obama spaeks. i learnt alot too, know more about politics and stuff. listen to americans comments and disscussion abt them, listen to the debate. in singapore i don even care wat is happening, be it PAP or oppositionhaha and after this i found out that ppl we are voting for can male a difference in our life. and i think americans must elect their president wisely, a capable one to bring them out from the situation (bush's mess, wars and financal criss) and also America economy can affect lots of country in the world. it can also affect singapore indirectly cos we've got qutie abit of investment here i think. Now i support OBAMA!!!! if i can vote i will sure vote for him! hope he wins also. i brought a badge that says phily for Obama. haha. he thinks and care for his citizen.
ok enough of politics

sunday

haha i am so behind time, now is already thurs and i am still talking abt sunday.guess i am not a on time and enthu blogger after all. i am trying to recall wat happened on sunday by looking through the pics:)
Firstly, in the morning, i went to the church with lit soo. A singaporen in Penn nursing doing PHD. we went to Renewal Presbyterian Church: 48th & spruce street. http://www.emmanuelchurch.net/ we went for the 12 o clock service. cos lit soo say tat there are more youth at that time.

lit soo is from new creation church and in Philadelphia she usually attends the one in Penn. but she say she don mind trying other church. so we went to the one quite near my place. the church is nice. is very korea. there are many korean i guess. more than half. so it actually feels quite like singapaore. as they speak el and have black hair

the service includes P&W, prayer, announcements, offering, testimony, sermon then song of response. the sermon is good! think the pastor is a korean also. the posters and signboards have korean words. the sermon is on David and Goliath. (1 samuel 17) i always view this story as a child who overcome a giant. God can do anything, he can use a small boy to overcome a giant. but this sermon brought my attention to another side of the story. it can also be viewed as God's glory through a boy of faith and a boy who give all glory to God.

at that time the Israelites are dismayed and terrified by the 9 feet giant. however David said "Who is the uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God." (verse 26) He he not forgotten about the Lord.

He has to go through 3 obstacles/discouragement

his brother, Eliab said "why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the desert? i know you are conceited you are and how wicked your heart is: you came down only to watch the battle" (verse 28) he actually blamed David for leaving the sheep and accuse him that he came down to watch the battle.

next is king saul, he said "you are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him: you are only a boy, and he has been fighting man from his youth"

lastly, we have got Goliath the giant.

he gives all glory to God. all his achievement.he said this to Saul: "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of the Philistine."

apart from God's power and might being shown through David. we must also not forget that David is a humble boy with faith who believe that God will deliver him:) God does not use him just like tat.
OK! so this is wat i learnt from the sermon.

after church i went home, eat, slack and then went out. we went to the art museum and the park. the museum close at 5, so we onli got like 15 mins. we might be gg back again if we have the time.

Photos!
on our way to the museum. we saw singapore flag and got really excited! haha

but now it looks like a Indonesia flag.

The Museum is at the far end

city hall and center city

this one is really funny. they just finished a marathon and then they still have leftover food and cereal biscuits.

so they are giving it out to ppl. if not they will throw it away also.

so the typical singaporean Kiasuism we took alot of packets. think about 60 packets?

XX took alot also.

Meijiao overjoyed with free food!

trying out the food. not bad
we got some breads also. this is our breakfast for 4 days?
but the best part it that, after taking so many packets we realised that they are expired. haha. but we still brought it home and ate it hoping that it is not spoiled
